    With a focus on mobile banking innovation and reinventing financial services, Citi Fintech Acceleration (herein Citi) is taking Citi into the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    They pioneer solutions across a range of areas, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Mobile investing advances that allow customers to buy and sell funds\/equities in-app<\/li>
    • Authentication solutions like biometric face and voice technologies<\/li>
    • Digital identity innovations, such as blockchain<\/li>
    • Technology to fight corruption and promote integrity<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Citi fosters innovation through collaboration and partnerships, with startups and companies of all stages from ideation to rollout to publicly traded. One of the innovative ways that Citi engages startup talent is via Open Innovation Challenges, which give emerging companies the opportunity to showcase their solutions to Citi executives and to Citi\u2019s Open Innovation Challenges Allies. Top solutions in the Innovation Challenge receive cash awards and access to potential commercial opportunities with Citi and Allies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Citi wanted to expand their outreach strategy to source the best startups<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      One of their recent challenges was \u201cTech for Integrity\u201d which focuses on creating solutions to increase transparency and integrity in the public sector. For the Tech for Integrity Challenge, Citi partnered with strategic allies IBM, PwC, Mastercard, Clifford Chance, LTP, Facebook and Microsoft. The Citi team began with a list of tech companies that were already on their radar as possible applicants, but they wanted to take their sourcing to the next level and ensure they weren\u2019t missing any relevant potential applicants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      To expand Citi\u2019s outreach for the Tech for Integrity Challenge, the team brought their existing list of companies into the CB Insights platform to centralize the list and facilitate commenting across the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      From there, CB Insights was utilized to build on Citi\u2019s existing list of startups in the forefront of public sector accountability and transparency. The team then referenced CB Insights Regulatory tech \u201cRegtech\u201d public collection to further supplement their research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \u201cCB Insights expanded our knowledge of the startup landscape,\u201d said Melany Valderrama, Technology and Platforms Digital Product Manager. \u201cWe came to CB Insights with our own vision of this space and by exploring public collections and recommendations, were able to broaden that perspective and see new players.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Citi used CB Insights to capture the full landscape<\/span> and facilitate internal collaboration<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Citi now had a comprehensive market landscape that captured emerging companies related to public sector accountability and transparency. The team exchanged ideas and feedback about the list within the CB Insights platform as the Innovation Challenge progressed, adding comments and continuing to add relevant companies and articles. Their efforts resulted in a dynamic landscape of over 2,000 startups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
